Privacy policy

This policy covers the website podgist.ai and the Podgist launch waitlist. The Podgist app will come with its own privacy policy.
The short version
- The site sets no cookies and has no analytics, tracking or advertising.
- Fonts, images and the video come from our own domain, so visiting doesn’t contact Google or any other third party.
- If you join the waitlist, we store your email address and a record of your consent. We email you only to confirm your address and once when Podgist launches.
- You can leave the waitlist at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email.

Visiting the website
When you open a page, your browser sends technical data to our hosting provider, Vercel Inc.: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the page you came from, and your browser and operating system (user agent). This is needed to deliver the site and keep it secure, for example to detect attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). These logs are kept only briefly, for operation and security, and we don’t combine them with other data.
No cookies, no tracking
podgist.ai doesn’t set cookies or store anything in your browser, and it has no analytics, advertising or social media plugins.
The waitlist
What we store
- Your email address.
- The consent text shown under the form when you signed up, and which of the two forms you used.
- The date, time, IP address and user agent of your sign-up, and of your confirmation.
- If the link that brought you here carried campaign parameters (such as
utm_source), those parameters, and the website you came from. - A record of each email we send you: its type, when it was sent, and the network that requested it (the IPv4 address, or the first half of an IPv6 address).
Double opt-in
After you sign up, we send you an email with a link. You’re on the waitlist only once you open it and press “Confirm my spot”, so nobody can sign up an address that isn’t theirs. If an address that’s already confirmed is entered again, we send it a short note saying it’s already on the list.
Why, and on what legal basis
- Telling you when Podgist launches. Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
- Confirmation emails, to make sure only the owner of an address can join. Our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Proving your consent: the consent text and the time, IP address and user agent of both steps. We have to be able to demonstrate consent (Art. 7(1) GDPR); the basis is our legitimate interest in doing so (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Preventing abuse: the records of sent emails, so the form can’t be used to flood someone’s inbox. Our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Knowing which channels bring people to the waitlist: campaign parameters and the referring website, looked at only in aggregate. Our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Giving us your email address is voluntary. Without it, we can’t add you to the waitlist.
Withdrawing your consent
You can withdraw your consent at any time without giving a reason. Use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email (or your mail app’s unsubscribe button), or write to info@podgist.ai. Withdrawal doesn’t affect the lawfulness of anything we did before.
How long we keep it
- Sign-ups that are never confirmed are deleted automatically after 30 days.
- Records of sent emails are deleted automatically after 30 days.
- Confirmed sign-ups are kept until we’ve sent the launch email and closed the waitlist. Then we delete the list.
- If you unsubscribe, we stop emailing you right away. We keep the data above until we close the waitlist, only to be able to show that we had your consent and respected your withdrawal.
Who processes it for us
We use these providers, each bound by a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR):
- Resend, Inc. (USA) sends our emails. Privacy policy
- Supabase, Inc. (USA) hosts the database that stores the waitlist, in the European Union. Privacy policy
- Vercel Inc. (USA) hosts the website. Privacy policy
These companies are based in the USA, so data may be transferred there. Transfers are covered by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where a provider is certified under it, and otherwise by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR). We don’t sell your data or share it with anyone else.
Emailing us
If you write to us, we use your address and message to reply. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering you (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We delete the conversation once it’s resolved, unless the law requires us to keep it.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- get a copy of the data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR),
- have it corrected (Art. 16 GDPR) or deleted (Art. 17 GDPR),
- have its processing restricted (Art. 18 GDPR),
- receive it in a portable format (Art. 20 GDPR),
- withdraw your consent at any time, with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR).
Right to object. Where we rely on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you can object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR).
To use any of these rights, write to info@podgist.ai. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU country where you live, work, or where you think the infringement took place (Art. 77 GDPR).
We don’t use automated decision-making or profiling (Art. 22 GDPR).
Changes
We update this policy when the website or the waitlist changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
